Last night I had a dream that Richard Linklater and I think maybe Mike Judge* were discussing the art of filmmaking and I was getting angry and impatient because I either had to take one of them to the airport, or needed to get something from them to send FedEx.

I think it’s fairly straightforward what my subconscious is trying to tell me about my current job.

*(Apparently not only can I not recognize him in person, but I can’t recognize him in my dreams either. sorry.)

I was searching the ol’ dashboard for “beards,” trying to show Paul this listicle on the 15 scariest beards of all time, since he’s decided to just not trim his beard until at least the beginning of 2010.

Anyway, this popped up as a result. And let me just say that I wake up every morning next to a fluffy beard, and this is not a beard.

Someone recently uploaded photos from elementary school onto Facebook, and there has been a barrage of comments, mainly gawking at our various fashion and reminiscing about the good ol’ days of 1991.

I must be in some kind of bitter mood, because with each “omg how awesome was that” comment I read, I am reminded of something was decidedly not awesome. Nothing major, just your typical 2nd grade drama.

I had started writing out all the annoying bits of that year that flooded my memory, but there’s no need for having it sent to the ether, writing it out was cathartic enough.

I will say this though: to the girl that called me gay after I gave her a kiss because I was so happy about who knows what, who said it with so much aghast hatred in her face that even though I didn’t know what she meant, I was so embarrassed: I hope for your sake you grew out of being a bigot at 7 years old.

Also, I don’t care how close you and your best friend are, wearing matching color coordinated outfits is lame. I couldn’t stand it in the 2nd grade and I couldn’t stand it in college.

I still do not know what to be for Halloween. For the past 5 or 6 years, I have seriously considered being Bianca Jagger at her Studio 54 birthday party, but I don’t think anyone would know what I was.

Right now I’m leaning towards being Liza Minelli. Still, I dont know if anyone will know what I am.

Autumn is my favorite time of year, and some of my all time fondest memories are picking apples as a little kid in Virginia. I went a few times when I was living in Cambridge, and on one of those trips I discovered the amazing thing that is the apple cider donut.

I miss them, and you can ask Dani, I apparently bring them up a lot. So instead of just pining away for them, or trying to convince friends in the northeast to mail me one, I just finished making the dough for my very own homemade apple cider donuts. I am going to refrigerate it overnight, and fry them tomorrow.

I am so looking forward to them.

I was on a commercial for the last 8 days, and among my many duties was driving around the director, producers, DP, client, agency, etc. I can’t very do that in my little fit, so I drove a Ford Expedition around the whole week. (I felt guilty driving such a behemoth, and would repeatedly tell people it was a rental. I did get way better at parking it after the first few days though.)

Anyway, I start with this because it explains why I didn’t know 107.7 HITZ FM (Pop y Rock en español y mas) changed its format to 107.7 La Jefa (Regional Mexican) until a week after it happened.

Now I’m totally bummed. Yes, I realize Digital 92.5 still exists, but that’s Univision’s competition and now I won’t be indirectly paying my sister’s salary by listening to ads.

So, HITZ, I dedicate this song to you. Oh, and clearly the Marco Antonio Solis original is waaaaaay superior to this one, but I thought I’d keep it appropriate to the old format.
